2013Langholm Hen Harriers on their way – but to kind of what future?

[singlepic id=235 w=320 h=240 float=left] You can now track all 4 satellite tagged hen harriers recently fledged from their natal home on moorland at Langholm in the Scottish Borders by clicking on the link here. The next few months, especially as the grouse shooting season begins in just a few days on the 12th August, will be crucial for their survival. With all the publicity and public interest generated by the 2013 project, will these birds, together with their 6 un-tagged siblings be safe? What does the future hold for them as they set out to run the gauntlet across the hostile badlands in the uplands of Scotland and England? This year we may be permiited the first insight of where these birds end up – dead or alive!!!
