The latest news from Langholm informs us that Natural England (NE) have finished their satellite tagging effort at Langholm on 18 July. Four young harriers (3 females and 1 male) have been tagged and NE staff will follow these as part of their wider work on the species. Six additional harriers were not fitted with satallite tags. We wish each of the birds well but fear once they move onto and across red grouse moors history will repeat itself. If,god forbid, the tagged harriers disappear along with the six not fitted with tags, will Natural England, funded by the tax paye tell us on which red grouse moor they disappeared or not?
