We are asking anyone with an interest in the well being of threatened indigenous birds of prey, if they would support our field work within the Forest of Bowland (west Lancashire), to protect birds of prey throughout this moorland area.
During the past 48 years members of the North West Raptor Group have funded this work from their own pockets. Since 2010 the situation in Bowland has deteriorated dramatically, resulting in the disappearance from the region of 18 nesting pairs of Peregrine Falcons and 7 pairs of Hen Harriers. This tragic situation has been brought about by human persecution. The North West Raptor Group urgently require funding to put in place a strategy to monitor and protect potential new nesting sites of these rare and endangered birds of prey before they are lost for ever.
