Appeal after buzzard poisoned in Ayrshire

[airesizeimg src=”” alt=”scottish-spca-badge_270x201″ class=”alignleft size-full wp-image-21236″ ]The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after a buzzard was found dead in Ayrshire having been poisoned. A member of the public discovered the young, female bird of prey in farmland between Maybole and Patna in April.

An undercover SPCA inspector said, “A toxicology test has revealed that the buzzard was killed with a lethal pesticide.

“We believe that this was a deliberate act which would constitute an offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.

“Unfortunately our enquiries so far have not resulted in any leads.

“If anyone has any information that may help our investigation we would urge them to come forward. Calls to our helpline are in strict confidence and can be made anonymously.”

Anyone with information is being asked to contact our animal helpline on 03000 999 999 or Police Scotland on 101.
