 Two men have been arrested in connection with a wildlife offence in Fakenham Magna. Police were called to an area of woodland in the village on Thursday December 4, to reports of the illegal trapping and killing of a tawny owl.

The men from the Thetford area, aged 35 and 36, were arrested on suspicion of committing a wildlife offence and also perverting the course of justice.

They were taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where they have been bailed to return to on Tuesday 6 January pending further enquiries.

    I understand that the Tawny Owl was found in woodland near the village of Falkenham Magna, Suffolk, and was caught in a pole-trap set specifically to kill raptors
