India: Amur Falcon campaign update — Nagaland gears up to prevent mass hunting

Post Conservation India’s reporting of this incident, and the subsequent national and international outcry, a lot of on-ground conservation initiatives have been initiated in Nagaland. Principally, the Government of Nagaland, at every level, are fully committed to end the killings and have geared up to face this season.


BirdLife Malta would welcome hunters to come and join BirdLife.

KSU (St Hubert Hunters) called for Birdlife Malta’s monitoring of bird migration and associated hunting activity to be itself monitored by the government. Birdlife Malta would actually welcome the involvement of the police and even the hunters themselves in our monitoring work.


Numbers of territorial pairs of Red Kites in Yorkshire reach the 100 in 2012

This issue of the Newsletter highlights two landmarks reached by the Yorkshire Red Kite Project. Firstly, Issue 14 recorded that there had been 94 territorial pairs of kites located in Yorkshire in 2012. Details of 6 further pairs have since been received, bringing the total number of confirmed territorial pairs in 2012 to exactly 100. […]
