Each day the Bowland RSPB team try to update their Bowland Blog, this week there are a number of items which our readers will find interesting to read.
Information relating to Defra’s u-turn on proposals to take buzzards into captivity and plans to destroy empty buzzard nests to support the shooting fraternity has also been mentioned. We were all fascinated to read the account of hen harrier (74843′s) migration from the Forest of Bowland all the way into the Ben Alder Forest near Dalwhinnine and along the west coast of Scotland around Arisaig and Loch Sheil. After making this trip she returned to Bowland for a short visit before deciding to fly off into Yorkshire. It will be interesting to learn where 74843 ends up, hopefully not down a black hole like all the rest of Bowland’s harriers!
