I just wanted to commend the article on the Short-Toed Snake Eagle. My wife and I lived in Northern Italy in the Friuli-Venezia Guilia region for 6 years and have recorded Short-Toed Snake Eagles during the summertime where we lived. In 2004 we recorded 3 sightings of the eagle, while in 2009 and 2010 we recorded weekly sightings until we moved to Germany in July.
